" This is my Mercury Cougar XR7-G that I've owned since 1981. This video was shot August 12 of this year. What small parts are obviously missing are the roof badges, fog lamps, hood clips with cable (pins are still there), and the chrome trim pieces around the exhaust cutouts. This car is an authentic "G" Cougar as verified by the Cougar Club of America Registry and the door plate's VIN number. This Cougar has the original engine (with engine tag) and has never been opened. The original Autolite carburetor, however, became un-rebuildable due to age and was replaced with an excellent Holly 650 cfm carburetor which runs much better and reliably. This car has an original factory installed sunroof (missing cables) by American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) and factory tilt-away steering wheel. It has an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and a/c (which does not work). The Cougar also has the original style-steel wheels with a 5th style-steel wheel in the trunk. All of the interior "G" options remain on the inside of the car: wood shift knob, unique console with "fog" and "sunroof" switches and rally clock, dash "Cougar XR&-G" plate, and bullet-shaped driver's side mirror as seen in the video. The 3rd extra loud horn is still intact, too. Many thanks to Royce with the Cougar Club of America for his valuable insight. Thanks! "

Beautiful, save that Cat! I know Royce too, he is great. He's probably among the top 3 people alive in terms of knowledge of '67-'68 Cougars... and he may be first. Wish my '68 was a "G".... :)
