" This is Precious, my 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 that I purchased in 1996 from Arizona. Clean southwestern car with zero rust and only 88K miles. This car is back together after a 3 year hiatus after a moron sprayed her with pea gravel at the Woodward Dream Cruise.I used Dupont Chromabase Urethane and went with 2006 Chrysler Crossfire "Alabastard". Thanks to my good buddy Bill for making this restoration happen. =D "

I'm a Mustang maniac, but a Cougar always got me thinking...

Sounds good Dave...keep me posted on the restoration!! Do you have a resource for parts? I can give you a link to a Cougar user group that could be a big help. Mark =)

It was a 1965 Malibu (tubbed out). It was not intentional, rather a stupid mistake that just happened. Thankfully Precious is better than before this incident four years ago. New paint, chrome. polished bright work. I have no desire to "do" car shows since Precious was sprayed. The Woodward cruise is a complete cluster f@ck. Too many party animals, drinking, fights, tire spinning, wall to wall people....just too much!! I use Precious for nice rides in the evening and on weekends. =)

sounds like they were jealous and did it on purpose. What kind of car was it? GM or Mopar?

Thanks Dave, "Precious" fell victim to another driver on the Woodward Ave. Dream Cruise in the summer of 04' and was sprayed at point blank range with pea gravel. Though the damage was only cosmetic, I stripped her down completely and started over to how you see her now. I swear, the morons I have seen at these car cruises. If I had a nickle for every time, I could retire! You couldn't pay me enough to go back out to Woodward...what a cluster fu@k!! Keep me posted with the restoration! Mark =)

Thanks Sailor. I have never bothered to fix the clock because I have a quick disconnect on the battery (theft) even though she is locked in the garage with 7,000 lbs. of Ford Dually in the way LOL! So I would have to reset the clock every time I took her out. Maybe one of these days I will get her fixed! Thanks again, Mark =)
